The skeletal remains of a man found in a blind woman’s home, turned out to be that of her son who vanished 20 years ago.

Rita Wolfensohn’s home was crammed with so much rubbish, one officer said it looked like a bin lorry had dumped its load.

But it is believed the elderly woman, who is legally blind, had no idea she was living with the fully-dressed corpse of her son, Louis, for the last two decades, according to the New York Post.

Wolfensohn’s sister-in-law, Josette Buchman, found the skeleton on a mattress on the floor still wearing jeans, socks and a shirt.

Cobwebs and rubbish filled the room that police called a ‘reverse Psycho scene’, referring to the Alfred Hitchcock thriller.

But when New York police quizzed the woman about her son, she claimed he’d moved out.

Wolfensohn is now living in an assisted-living facility, according to her brother Joseph Buchman.

The remains are yet to be officially identified, but police believe it is likely to be that of her missing son, who would have been 49 years old.
